RISING FROM THE ASHES
february of 2025
concept
The choice of the concept for this project stems from the culture and geographical roots of the Levantine region, which spans the present-day territories of Syria, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. My motivation was to pay homage to this part of the world, so rich in history and traditions, but which, unfortunately, has witnessed much suffering due to war, imperialism and the conflicts that have marked it over the years. Through this project, I seek to offer a renewed vision of a region that, while facing great adversity today, retains a strong identity and a deep historical legacy.
design
As for the design of the stand, my aim was to create a visually striking structure that fused the elements of ash and fire, representing the duality of destruction and regeneration. Ash, a symbol of devastation and loss, was represented by dark colours such as black and grey. In addition, I used a palisade structure that evoked the sensation of a cell or prison, conveying confinement and anguish, paralleling the experience of the Levantine people, whose freedoms have often been curtailed. This sense of claustrophobia was intended to reflect the suffering of a population trapped in pain and repression.
